Exhibits

The Central Georgia Model Railroad Club operates a traveling exhibit designed to educate viewers about model trains. Consisting of a large operating model train layout, several smaller sections called modules, and various pieces of equipment, displays and memorabilia, the exhibit has traveled around Georgia since 2005.

Locations

The exhibit has been housed in the Atlanta Airport, a restored depot in Albany, Georgia Southern University, and museums in Cartersville and Thomasville. The Atlanta Airport had our largest audience by far, with an estimated 10 million people passing the exhibit while it was in place in 2005 and 2006.

You can see more information about each location by click on the links to the left. On each page you will find photos and descriptions of the exhibit while it was in place.

To find out more on how the layout for the exhibit was built, see the construction page. It has lots of information on the methods we used to build this layout.
