Traveling Exhibit

The Central Georgia Model Railroad Club operates a traveling exhibit designed to educate viewers about model trains. Consisting of a large operating model train layout, several smaller sections called modules, and various pieces of equipment, displays and memorabilia, the exhibit has traveled around Georgia since 2005.

The exhibit's first stop was the Atlanta Airport from August 2005 until August 2006. By far our most visible location, it was seen by approximately 10 million people. After a break to finish some new construction projects for the exhibit, it was located in Albany, Georgia from April to September 2007.

Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia displayed the layout starting in October 2007. The exhibit was installed in Thomasville from October 2008 to January 2009.

The exhibit resided in Cartersville from July 2009 to January 2010. It is currently back in Macon in storage until the next event.
