Layouts

The CGMRC has two operating layouts: one in HO scale, and the other in N scale. The HO scale layout is approximately 16' x 75' and is our main focus at the moment, since it is currently under construction. The N scale layout is about 10' x 20' and resides in a seperate room from the HO scale layout.

HO Scale

The HO scale layout features several mountain scenes including Stone Mountain, a large 21 track yard, a passenger terminal, a steam servicing facility, a diesel shop, and various industries and scenes. The layout features 3 independent loops so we can run several trains at once, plus have trains in the yard and passenger terminal. Several parts of the layout are mostly complete, having been incorporated from several previous layouts. The rest remains under construction. We currently have 95% of the track laid, and are just starting on the scenery and buildings.

N Scale

The N scale layout is mostly complete. It features a yard, mountains, and several loops to allow several trains to run at the same time.
