HO Scale
Our HO scale layout is our biggest feature. Stretching 75' down our building and 16' deep, it gives visitors lots of action to watch, as it features 3 mainline loops, with up to 4 trains running at the same time.
Scenes
The layout was built with visitors in mind, mostly viewing the layout through the windows that run along the front of the room. With that in mind we set about creating scenes that would hold interest for them, and here is what we came up with:
- A model of Stone Mountain, complete with a laser light show
- Macon's Terminal Station and passenger yard
- A large 21 track yard that is over 20' long
- A bridge under construction
- A mountain with a large wooden trestle and tunnels
- A marble quarry
- A scrap yard
- Mud bog scene
- And lots more...
There are also several features on the layout that are unusual such as a four track, double level swing bridge and a swing bridge that is part of a mountain, complete with scenery and rock outcroppings.
Construction Status
The layout is currently under construction, so not everything is complete yet. The track is laid down so we can run trains, but the scenery work is just beginning. We still need to add buildings and all of the fine details, but we are well on our way to a finished layout.
